Flying with Bikes elovision 11 sept 2003 - readers letters Thanks for the superb magazine, it shows that fun cycling and useful cycling can be the same thing! Following on from the letter and comment last issue about flying with a bicycle: I recently flew to Germany on business, and taking the bike couldn't have been easier. The trick is using the right machine. A Strida folder might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the simple design and enclosed cables make them very tough. I rode to the airport, let some air out of the tyres, folded it up and checked it in. At the other end, just collect, unfold, a bit of air, and soon i'm gliding along the banks of the rhine on a beautiful afternoon. it turned a business trip into an excuse for a minor continental bike tour, and even saved my company money on taxi fare!
