Thanks for the superb magazine, it shows that fun cycling and useful cycling can be the same thing!
Following on from the letter and comment last issue about flying with a bicycle: I recently flew to Germany on business, and taking the bike couldn't have been easier.
The trick is using the right machine. A Strida folder might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the simple design and enclosed cables make them very tough. I rode to the airport, let some air out of the tyres, folded it up and checked it in. At the other end, just collect, unfold, a bit of air, and soon i'm gliding along the banks of the rhine on a beautiful afternoon. it turned a business trip into an excuse for a minor continental bike tour, and even saved my company money on taxi fare!
